WHY THIS MODEL
A roof-mounted fan is not the right solution for every home. Properties may have an existing gable vent, limited roof space, complex roofing materials or a homeowner who prefers to avoid adding another roof penetration.
The fan installs vertically near or behind an appropriate gable opening while its separate 20-inch by 19-inch solar panel can be positioned remotely for effective solar exposure.
The installation still requires careful planning, weatherproof mounting and an appropriate route between the panel and fan.

AUTOMATIC RESPONSE
The fan responds to excessive attic heat during warmer weather and elevated humidity during other times of the year when sufficient solar energy is available.
INSTALLATION MATTERS
The contractor must verify that air can move effectively from the attic’s intake vents to the gable exhaust location. Square footage is only a starting point.
MODEL SELECTION
The gable model may be preferable when:
The home already has a suitable gable opening.
The contractor or homeowner wants to avoid mounting the fan housing on the roof.
The roof surface is crowded or difficult to access.
A remotely mounted panel can reach better sunlight than the gable wall.
The attic is no larger than approximately 1,500 square feet.
Temperature and humidity control are both desired.
